How it started
Throughout high school, I dealt with a lot of stress from schoolwork. I stayed up many nights studying and working on a to-do list that never seemed to end. I also noticed I wasn’t the only one, and a lot of my friends felt the same way.
While learning how to manage my stress, I realized I like having something small to fidget with. I played with my rings a lot, spinning them around my fingers while I worked or studied. That’s when I realized I could design a ring specifically for fidgeting with a bead that spins.
So I made one, and I loved it. It was something I knew that was always there. Small, and unnoticeable to anyone who wasn’t looking closely. It was a quiet little reminder that I could pause, breathe and reset, without anyone else even noticing. I made more rings and shared them with my friends, and they loved them too.
Now I’m bringing the Rika Ring to Rika Charms, and I hope it can be a small comfort for you the way it has been for me.
Stress is a normal part of life
Stress isn’t a sign that something is wrong with you. It can come from school, work, family, friendships, or just a really busy week, and nearly everyone you know is carrying some of it, even when it doesn’t show. Dealing with it doesn’t have to be a big production. Sometimes it’s as simple as giving your hands something gentle to do while your mind catches up. That’s all the Rika Ring is.

Hey everyone! My name is Kayla Xu and I am a high school senior. I've always loved creating art, but I'm so excited to share it with you all through Rika Charms!
Outside of Rika Charms
Beyond creating jewelry, I am passionate about STEM, music, and visual arts in general. I am an aspiring Mechanical Engineer and I hope to pursue my interests through undergraduate and maybe even graduate school! I play both the piano and flute, but I really want to learn the guitar and violin.
